Hi, when do HMRC pass the student loan repayment as part of my tax return to student finance? When will I see it come off my balance? Will the interest be taken off too back to the date I paid hmrc?

I am trying to find out the answer to this too! I paid some additional student loan on my self assessment and it isn't showing in my repayments yet. I got in touch with HMRC on chat and they gave me a tel number to call so I'll try today. I only have a small amount left after 20 odd years so want to get it paid off as soon as the repayment is showing

I still don't know. I spent 2 hours on hold yesterday trying to get through to HMRC and I gave up! It's a farce. Fast enough to collect the money!

I think I read somewhere that they send it over by the end of the tax year, but not really sure.

*We do not get your self assessed deduction until or after 31/03/2024.

From this date, Student Loans Company will begin to apply a customer’s Self Assessed repayment to and calculate the interest on their loan balance as at 31 January 2024.

Interest is then suspended from 1 February 2024 onwards. At this point a Self Assessed statement is issued to customer*
