Can children get legal aid to bring their own case vs absent parent?

(This is a duplicate, I already posted in lone parents but was advised to post here.)
Hi,
I am asking this question on behalf of my friend.

She would not be able to get legal aid but can't afford to bring a case for her daughter against her daughter's father. (Regarding access to siblings.)

Does anyone have experience of their child bringing a case on their own behalf? The child is 10 and is very grown-up and intelligent.

Thanks for any help. I wasn't sure where to post this question, hopefully someone with experience will see it!!

well when i got runover (i was 16) I sued the driver who ran me over (he was travelling at 50mphin a 30mph limit)

i got legal aid and did it all myself with no help at all from either parent. (my mum had left so she couldnt help, and my dad decided i was old enough to deal with solicitors etc myself... which i did )

If I (10 years ago) as a legal child could sue the guy who nearly killed me i dont see why your 10year old cant?
