I'm interested to see if anyone has experience of Countrywide Tax & Trust Corporation. My parents put their house in trust with them and I have been trying to deal with them since my Dad died a year ago. They have been extremely difficult and at times amateurish. They have given incorrect information and failed to understand some basic stuff typical to the situation which they say they are very experienced in. I'm wondering what experience others have had with them.

I don’t personally but I know that similar schemes have been sold to people for no known reason other than the company selling them charge high up front fees. What was the reason it was put into trust? Who lives in the home now? Have you checked whether the ‘trust’ is registered with HMRC? Who are the trustees? Who are the beneficiaries?

You might need some advice from a solicitor.

Also check companies house to see who the owners and directors of Countrywide Tax & Trust Corporation are, it might give you some contact details? Good luck.

Also check what professional bodies the company belongs to and contact them if you still don’t get things resolved.

There are a number of poor reviews for them on trust pilot. There is help on the government website about registering trusts on hmrc something your parents may not have have needed to do when the trust was created. Trusts are a specialised area for tax and legal implications.
