Funeral plan in 30’s?

Just wondering if it’s worth getting a funeral plan in my 30’s and how exactly it works?

Big shock this week as a (fit and healthy!) friend of mine suddenly died from heart problems, in their early 30’s, so I’ve been busy sorting out my life insurance and now just thinking about the cost of a funeral. I have a husband and small humans, no real savings, so is it worth thinking about now?

If you have life insurance then undertakers will await payment of the account on settlement of the insurance claim. Setting up a separate funeral insurance plan would be unnecessary - you'd be better off increasing your life cover if you have money to spare.

I would imagine that as you are likely to live for another 40-50 years, that the plan may well not cover what's needed or the company may have gone bust by the time you actually die. A savings account or life insurance would be a better idea.
