Incorrect tax code

I transfer part of my tax free allowance to my husband (and have done since 2019), however I've just noticed from my payslips that my employer is still using the basic code of 1257L, and has never updated it.
Government tax code on my online portal is showing 1130L since 2019, I'm now concerned as to why my employer isn't using the correct one? I was under the impression that they are informed of these by HMRC and aren't in control of them, so how can they just use a different one?

Mine went wrong a couple of months ago following a TUPE transfer. 'New' employer put my code in as 1257L when it should be BR. Revenue were on like a shot.

Is the transferred part being correctly applied IRO your husband?

I'd suggest checking with the employer and then HMRC.

Thanks for your reply, incidentally I have just got off the phone with HMRC, who have agreed that they aren't using the correct code, but are unable to send my employer an update via the electronic system as they've been told I left on 5th April! I've been working there and getting paid every month for the last 5 years, so this is just utterly bizarre.

And yes, to answer your question, my husbands tax code was increased accordingly at the time and is still correct.
