Anyone else on here? I am trying to decide how to vote in the ballot.

The headline of 7.25% I would get works out at £2362 a year. Obviously by far the best rise we have had in more than a decade and I would be loath to vote against. However, pissed off I'll still be on band minima having been in this post 7 or 8yrs. We have no increments. I'm training up new starters on the same as me. Also pissed off that of the 3 bodies I listed, we are on the lowest pay and no moves to bring us up in line. So the two bug bears not resolved.

The pay offer should show the new pay band minima.

Without the full details it’s difficult to advise.

What I can say is whilst I understand sitting at the pay band minima is slightly disheartening a pay increase of 7.25% is significant for the CS. One of the reasons depts do this is because they need a pay band that attracts new recruits. They may also be sorting out structural issues within the pay bands e.g. so they don’t overlap, that there is 10% clearance between a pay band maxima and the minima of the grade above so you don’t get leap frogging.

Yes they are doing those things. I recognise 7% is defo the best we've seen in 15yrs?!

I didn’t know some unions had decided to ballot - why haven’t we all be told that I wonder. intranet stories keeps saying “if the TUs decide to ballot then it will take longer to finalise things”, if they know they have decided that why can’t they just say! Guess little hope for us getting the backdated money before Xmas then.

Wonder what will happen next if it is rejected. How will they move forward. (I’m not a member of a union but I think on balance if I was I would vote to accept). I’m not on band minima but not quite at mid point and my increase works out about 5.7% if I’ve done it correctly.

Prospect is doing a ballot, votes in this week. If it's a yes, they're still saying back pay in Dec. But I guess it's more of a risk.
