Do you work for an insurance company? What's the maternity leave policy?

I currently work in insurance and am looking to move jobs as I need a change.

We're thinking of trying for a baby in a year or two so the maternity pay/ policy of the company is really important to me, but many employers don't share what the policy is and asking for it seems dangerous!

If you work for the likes of Markel, Pen, Allianz, RSA, Munich Re, Arch, Travelers, AXA etc in the UK, could you share what the maternity/ parental leave package is?

Thank you!!

I'll kick off with NFU Mutual's. It's not the best policy, but at least they publish it:

You can take up to 52 weeks maternity leave, regardless of how long you have worked for us or how many hours you work.

To receive the first 20 weeks company Maternity pay at your full rate of pay, you need to have worked at NFU Mutual for at least two years when your baby is due.
If you have less than two years’ service but more than 26 weeks service when you enter the 15th week before your baby is due, you will receive 6 weeks at your full rate of pay.
Up to ten paid keeping in touch (KIT) days can be agreed between you and your manager during your maternity leave. You continue to be eligible for a bonus while you are in receipt of maternity pay.

Financial ombudsman - so related field, pays 6 months full pay, then statutory, there's a length of service required but I believe it's 1 year. They also do other family friendly policies and benefits.

I don’t any more, but when I did it was the same as NFU’s.

Thanks all. I have an interview with Markel but can't find their policy anywhere. Any ideas?

CL- 18 weeks full pay, following 21 weeks at SMP. Think you need to have been there a year before a certain point in your pregnancy.

IIRC Lloyds do 6 months full pay!
