Child benefit tax charge help

I'm trying to figure out if I will need to pay the tax charge on my child benefit and I'm getting confused.
Is a workplace pension deducted from your income to create your adjusted net income?
I work for the NHS, I earn £51k, but my NHS pension contributions are 10%. Does this mean my adjusted salary is just below £46k meaning the charge doesn't apply?

Yes

That’s correct. You take pension off your earnings when calculating, so won’t have to pay the charge

Thanks both, I was confused as to whether workplace pensions counted or it had to be a private pension.
