Received a letter a few weeks back regarding the switch over from Tax Credits to UC . Letter said to wait for a migration notice letter ?

Wondering how old others waited for the migration notice letter ?

Thanks

Mine came 3 weeks later.

i had a leaflet 4 weeks ago and wondered the same as the post has been terrible here letters posted in differrent doors etc so a bit panicky so phoned UC they couldnt tell dont have that information so phoned TC they said they couldnt see anything on the system to say but should have a red banner at the top saying their end if you were informed letter wise,no idea if that is the case tbh

i know they are moving people just claiming TC in my area but im on a combination TC/ESA so im guessing im not on their list at the moment but will be phoning TC monyjly just in case the post has messed up etc

I think that everyone who hasn’t yet migrated got that leaflet. That way, when the official notice arrives, people can’t feign surprise. I received the leaflet too, but have not been asked to migrate yet.

There’s a good support thread in Money Matters OP if you have queries when you need to migrate. Some knowledgable and helpful people post on it.

Thanks everyone.
We haven’t had anything else yet still waiting.

We were expecting it as we knew it was coming just didn’t know when they would get around to moving us over so I can see why those letters would go out .

Thanks @Teado will take a look at that thread x

I was googling counties which were due to be migrated, took me ages to find any info but one website said in December Oxfordshire,Berkshire and Bucks were next.
I'm in the county just above so may be I'll be in January.

I’m in Dorset (so “from September 2023”) and have heard nothing yet. A friend who is local is in the same position.

We will both no longer qualify from next August (one DC each, both going to uni next autumn). We’re wondering if we’re just going to be allowed to finish Tax Credits naturally. It would seem silly to migrate in Feb/March and finish in Aug. Such a waste of time and DWP resource. And a bit more costly for the taxpayer because we’ll both be eligible for a little more money.

Neither of us has a beef with UC - we just can’t be bothered with the faff.

Thanks Scooby. I still haven't had mine( barleymilk was my old username).
So I'll expect it any day now. Good we are given three months to prepare to switch x

ScoobyBooby · 11/02/2024 14:02

Yes , I was worried about how quick they would want us to apply by but that’s plenty time. The letter does say once you make the UC claim all other payments will be stopped and it should take 28 days for your UC claim to sorted , but there’s helped if needed between . Fingers crossed we won’t need that .
We haven’t applied yet , waiting on some documents but should be sorted tomorrow and we can apply . Hope there’s no issues , as never had one problem on TC !
