Should I get a mobility car

this isn’t a decision I will be making now because I don’t yet have the higher rate component but I want to think about it.
I meet the criteria for higher rate mobility with my conditions, other people qualified on the basis of issues that I also have and they have been accepted, but I have been denied. I am currently being messed about by the benefits people and it’s going to end up in tribunal because they didn’t decide on anything within 8 weeks of submitting my reconsideration. If anyone knows what to expect let me know.
I will probably eventually get the benefit.
I could start to save up for a cheap used car or use the mobility payment to get one from the mobility scheme.
I’m not sure which would make the most financial sense

We chose to have the car over the monthly payment. Our own car was old, we constantly worried about it breaking down and not having the money to fix it, failing MOTs etc....
The motobility car gives us stress free travel. There's a deposit to pay on some of the cars- the smaller ones are usually nil deposit- then after that all you pay for is the fuel! Its serviced free every year- they come and collect it and return it- and after 3 years they MOT it free. If you breakdown they have to give you a courtesy car.

Most people seem to want the car as it is a good deal as I think it includes insurance, maintenance etc so really takes away a lot of the stuff that other car owners have to sort. I am a benefits advisor and get loads of people ringing asking how they can get enhanced rate mobility as they want a car, unfortunately a lot of those are pension age so can't get it if they don't already have PIP mobility in place. I would say it's a good deal.
