2x £100 for me this month. That’s £1700 in the past 12 months.

Ilikeyoursleeves · 02/11/2023 15:51

Nothing for me this month on around £30k holdings 😭

SahliJ · 02/11/2023 16:02

Awaiting my cheque….😉😆

GasPanic · 02/11/2023 16:16

£250 this month on FH. Pleased with that.

£1775 for the entire year so far.

If I beat £2000 I have had more this year than 2019-2022 combined. A pretty serious uptick in prize money this year.

recklessgran · 02/11/2023 16:19

£50 for me and £75 for DH. Not great this month but we're happy with our winnings of just over 3k this year so far. That will pay for a decent enough week in the sun for the two of us so we're not complaining!

Happiestathome · 02/11/2023 16:23

Does anyone track their bond wins? I’ve noticed of the 2650 I hold in bits and bobs (under £500 blocks), I’ve never won from them…… yet🤞I have won from a reinvested bond on one occasion which was a £50 win from £500 won previously. I’ve held bonds for 3 years.

Eaumyword · 02/11/2023 17:58

£525 across 2.5 FH. Quite pleased!🥳

FiveShelties · 02/11/2023 18:00

@Happiestathome I won £100 which was reinvested in 2014. That £100 block has won £475 since then in various amounts of £25 £50 and one £100. Sadly this has not been mirrored in the other bonds.

skyeisthelimit · 02/11/2023 18:01

I won £50 this month on £14K, total winnings since January are now £750

Coldbit · 02/11/2023 18:15

£150 from £42k but overall it's not a great return over the year At least its tax free

ChristmasCrumpet · 02/11/2023 18:39

So, turned out to be £250 on just under FH.

Very underwhelmed with this year's results considering the alternative saving accounts.

WimbyAce · 02/11/2023 19:40

£100 for me 😃

willingtolearn · 02/11/2023 21:52

£0 on FH... again....

I'm currently at £950 for the year since January - that's well below average.

eurochick · 02/11/2023 22:04

Just £100 for me this month. I managed over £2k in the previous six draws, including my biggest ever win so I can't complain.

JollyHostess101 · 02/11/2023 22:42

So I’ve kept my late fathers bonds in for the 12 months you can keep them in!!

he’s won £375 since he passed away….. he’d be extremely happy with this 🤣

aloadofbowlocks · 02/11/2023 22:50

£400 on FH - the best I've ever had. It feels like a very big amount of money and I am happy.

eurotravel · 02/11/2023 22:58

£100 for me. About £14k in savings

Bangerwheel · 02/11/2023 23:01

Yikes! My DD has won £5000! And that's on about £8k in there. She's 13 so there's no way she's getting it as "spends"... can only imagine. I know it's hers but if she knows I won't hear the last of it and she'll just want to spend it all inappropriately (clothes, shoes, pony, etc) 😀

I'm a single parent with two DC, the other one is 16 and hs started getting his own little payouts into his bank account (the odd £100, £50 etc).

I don't know what to do now... reinvest it all secretly back into hers???

Secretly split it between the two of them and reinvest it back into the bonds???

They've got the same amount of bonds at the moment, all presents from grandparents over the years. I feel with a big(gish) win it might be nice to split it so they keep the same amount. That would make sense perhaps until they were 18.

However obviously the issue with this is... thank God it's her win. If the 16 year old had won £5000 today then there's no way he'd split it with her or even reinvest it. And I suppose it would, obviously, be up to him.

Am I the only one that thinks it should be 18 that the account gets handed over? 16 seems awfully young to potentially be getting big payouts potentially without parents even knowing and blowing it!

So although I think I'd like to keep their bonds even, if it had been the other way around that wouldn't have happened. Perhaps I just do this with her until she's 16 if a win is say over
£1000. Not that it's likely to happen again.

She also won another £100 which I've told her about and she's having for tomorrows clothes shopping trip - was delighted!

What a problem to have 🤯

Happiestathome · 02/11/2023 23:10

@Bangerwheel what lovely news. My children had an agreement that they would split any prizes over £100. My daughter is now 16 and has control of her account but they have agreed to continue until 18. Perhaps you could pose the question and decide what to do from their answers.

Re the account age, I removed the majority of my daughter’s funds prior to 16, which she knows, as I feel it’s too soon to have a large sum of money

eurotravel · 02/11/2023 23:13

My DC have loads too courtesy of family members. That's made me think about big wins. We just reinvest and at the mo they don't know

slithytoveisascientist · 02/11/2023 23:50

Split and reinvest and have a conversation with your DS about sharing wins until 18

Congratulations to your daughter, amazing news! Years ago one of my 2 DC won £1000, I split it between the two accounts. They were too young to know anyway.
Smaller amounts I haven't bothered splitting

I agree about 16 being too young, DD is now 16 and has had a letter from NS & I. Maybe I should have moved the money before but I've told her it's to be kept for future driving lessons, college/ uni etc.
There isn't a huge amount, just over £3000 so don't want it frittered away

Musiclover234 · 03/11/2023 04:33

Nothing for me on 4k and a bit. I’ve had one win this year of £25.

I’ve decided to keep what I have as I like the chance of winning but I’ve now been putting all my regular savings into a higher interest account while the rates are higher.

@LuckyDS i hope he was chuffed what a great amount! Keeps me hopeful that smaller amounts can win and win bigger prizes!

Ohmylovejune · 03/11/2023 07:49

@ThisWomansWorkNeverEnds

My two inherited £5k when they were about 10 and we put it into bonds. They agreed to split any winnings over £100. It never happened.

Legally its your daughters though.

What we've found is that they've treated it as their house deposit and carried on investing in bonds, with a house ISA too. Our little ones are lucky to have that starting point to encourage saving.

That's a good idea before 16, too late for DS. I'm telling them that their grandpa gave them that as bonds and would prefer it if they stayed there (that's true) but obviously when he's older it will be up to him.

Who would have thought winning would cause issues! 🙃
