Universal credit question

Hello
I am a single parent working full time and looking to move out my parents house . I would be eligible for some uc when I move as the rents are ridiculous.

As a full time worker, would I need a first commitments meeting ? Can any full time workers let me know what appointments they needed to attend ? Last time I signed on for uc was ages ago and I only got new standard single element .

Thanks

You may need an appointment at the Jobcentre to prove ID, Housing Costs etc. Requirements here seem to change. Fraud during the pandemic lead to them tightening up.

HAving a claimant commitment is a condition to receive UC. If you're in full time employment then I'd not expect anything more onerous than agreeing to keep in touch and tell them if anything changes.

I think you'd need one initial appointment but after that you won't.

Google lha for your area to check how much you may get towards rent and check how many bedrooms you are entitled to.

They will only pay up to the LHA. It doesn't matter how expensive the rents are.

If you rent somewhere where the rent is higher than the LHA then you will have to make up the difference.
