Income protection

I'm only entitled to SSP.
I've been thinking about getting income protection, does anyone know of any companies that cover sickness in pregnancy.
Just worried if I get so sick and I need time off work I'll be taking massive reductions in pay.

Thank you

I suspect that if you're already pregnant insurance for complications, as opposed to unrelated issues, would be very costly if not unavailable. Cover to top up SSP without an excess/wait time to deter short period claims would be similarly costly.

Universal Credit could potentially top up but you'd need to meet conditions regarding capital etc and, if you're part of a couple, you'd have to claim/be assessed jointly.

Thank you for your reply. I am not pregnant yet was just looking for the future so far. Might be a better idea to try and get as much savings as possible behind me then.
