Disabled element of Working tax credit

Hi
Does anyone know if I'm eligible
I work 30 hrs per week and receive WTC and CTC
My husband had been disabled for the last 2 yes due to a back injury. Cannot walk more than 20 metres without having to stop or be in pain. I have to bath him and toilet him as he can't bend. PIP was refused.

I've read we could get disabled element of WTC but he doesn't work.

Has anyone successfully claimed this?

You have to have a disability that means you are treated as a disadvantaged worker; and. You have to be receiving a qualifying benefit. For most claims, the qualifying benefits are Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Attendance Allowance or Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP).

Have you appealed the PIP decision? Surely he should qualify if he is needing such assistance. Awful he was refused.

He'll need PIP and be the one working get the disabled part of working tax credits unfortunately.

How long ago was the PIP decision?

Hi this was the back end of last year. Couldn't deal with the stress of the MR (after reading this forum I may try again).

You'd need to reapply and start fresh.

Please apply again for PIP. Ask for help on here, and/or go and have a look at the Benefits & Work website Flowers

You would have to claim UC as any change in circumstances triggers the need to claim UC.
