Should I apply for 0% credit card now?

I have an expense that needs to be paid for by October £3k

I was going to apply for a 0% credit card in September to maximise the the length of repayment months.

Would I be better applying for the card sooner? I’m not sure about interest rates and if this would effect the availability of 0% credit cards, I’m a complete novice!

How long will it take to pay the debt?

eg, if you are due to pay the debt (£3k + fee) within 12 months and get a BT card for 16 months then you won’t have an issue.

bear in mind that for some you have to BT in a certain timeframe, say 3 months from card opening.

BT cards don’t seem to have been affected by IR rises so far.

Thank you for replying, I have 2 cards at 0% at the moment to build up my credit score over the last year that are due to expire on 0% the first card was a healthy £2K that has £1000 left and the 2nd was £400 limit that I clear every month, I can clear the £1k that’s due to finish by September.

When do you think it would be a good time to apply for another 0% it’s affordable for me I just want to maximise my repayment terms.

Will it be a balance transfer, or will you be using the card to pay for it as a purchase?

It will be for a purchase
