Question for Self Employed and benefits

Can you offer any advice?

For those who are Self Employed and claiming benefits.

We're you better off on old style tax credits or new UC?

Is it easy enough to report earnings/loss monthly?

The calculator suggests I'm better on UC but I've heard such negative things about it I'm worried to make a switch.

Any experiences welcome please.

In my mind the biggest issue for the Self Employed in UC is the Minimum Income Floor where an established business in an established (over one year) claim is assumed to give a return based on a multiple of the National Living Wage.

Everyone on tax credits will be moved to UC soon enough, probably best to wait to move until you have to.
