Matched betting? For dummies...

So I've read about it on here. I'm a betting novice, never put a bet on in my life. Can someone please point me in the direction of a simple breakdown on line? Also, if something is too good to be true, usually it is. I don't want to invest hours of my time for a £20 uplift. So, is it really worth it?
Thank you in advance.

I knew nothing about betting but have been doing it for a few months now and it's been a good way to get a bit of extra money. Takes a while to learn but once you get going you can get some good returns. I'd recommend OddsMonkey - you can do a free trial with them to learn a bit more about it and see if you think it's worth it. They have a v.helpful Facebook group too

Thank you, I'll take a look. Been put off by the idea that I'll either loose money or get £20 for 8 hours work.

Matched betting is basically placing one bet for something to happen and another bet for it not to happen, so you cover both sides and use the bookmaker’s free bet to make a small profit. I found it easier to grasp once I’d played around with simple odds and bonuses on sites like https://peakycasino.net/guide/, as it breaks down the basics in a way that feels less intimidating.
