Im a SAHM, DH works full time but on a low wage so we get working family tax credits.

We also get child tax credits.

Like I said Im a SAHM but may have been offered some work from a comapany do do some drawings on comission.

Does this affect me?

Im not even sure how it would work or when/how I would get paid, i wouldnt want to get into trouble.

It wouldnt be a lot of money.

Thanks

Any money you get will affect your tax credits, yes. Especially if it takes you over the limit for WTC which IIRC is quite low. I would check on the hmrc website before you do it.

If I were you I would definitely phone the tax credit helpline rather than ask on here. IME they are a law unto themselves and best kept informed of the slightest change or you'll be paying for it for years.

I'm no expert butI should think that if you don't know what your income will be they will adjust your award when they know what your final years joint salary was. Thats not going to be fun as you may end up paying quite a bit back to them over the following year.

Oh no it should only be very little, a few hundred pounds total i think! Just a one off thing.

Not a 'wage' by any means!

still counts as earned income i'm afraid Disenchanted. It won't come off pound for pound, i think everything you earn over x amount is deducted from your award at 33% tax credits are a complicated beast. you're best to tell them everything.

I would still phone them and check, a few hundred pounds can put you just into the next category which can make your credit award a whole lot different.
