Hi,

Please could someone offer advice?

On a self assessment return (purely for the CB payback) do I write partner's income as the figure in the blue box on the P60 as total income (ie pay minus salary pension deductions)
Or is it that figure, minus the tax figure shown on the P60 too?

I feel like I can't trust my own research and want to understand before doing the self return form

So income on P60 is either
59000

Or 59000- 10000 (ish tax) - 49000

Thanks for any advice

It's the total income, I'm afraid. 59 000

There's another box to fill in the tax deducted amount so it's the gross pay you fill in

Oh thank you. Really appreciate your replies.

we paid back most for last year but I wanted to make sure I hadn't made some kind of silly mistake as the more I reasearched the more confused I was.

Opted out of payments now, doesn't seem worth the hassle of a tax return just for this, only to keep £150 odd of it for the year.

If you were filling out one anyway it would be worth it I think!

Just make sure you are claiming the National Insurance element of Child benefit if you are not working or not working enough hours to pay NI
