Nationwide Fairer Share Payment

I can't find anything on the Nationwide website relating specifically to the 11-17 year old Flex-One account. I am hoping that as it is called a current account it qualifies for the £100 payment, but it would be nice to know.

Does anyone know anything further please?

Ours were paid yesterday. Mine to my sole account and my husbands to the joint account (he doesn't have a solo account). I think I read that they would pay to solo named accounts if possible and then joint accounts if that's the only option.

Ours went in the same way and I understood it same.

I think that they may have shots themselves in the foot with this one for many customers. I have a current account which I keep quite a high balance in for reasons I won’t go into as they’re not relevant, it earns no interest and I am now pissed off with Nationwide that I don’t qualify as I don’t also have a savings account. I may walk.

It's a massive publicity stunt.

Why not just pay it out in the form of lower interest rates on loans and higher ones on deposits ?

You know - like a normal bank would ?

Because Nationwide are a building society, not a bank?

Do you also have a mortgage or savings with Nationwide? You need 2 products and fit criteria re: balance or money going into the accounts

It's not a bank though, is it? That's the whole point - a building society shares its profits with its members. A bank shares its profits with its shareholders.
