running out of money before payday

Is it just me, or does anyone else run out of money before payday?

Just be trawling through my bank statements and I generally run out of cash about 5-6 days before payday. Is this the same for anyone else?

I think if it is happening every single month you need a better budget, if you simply can't cut any more of your bills and livings expenses you need to try and up income, but for most people they could cut back here and there
it might be worth for a few months doing no spend except absolute essentials just to get back on an even keel and have a small pot even £500 so every tiny unexpected thing doesn't send you back into the red
the second thing is most so called emergencies are not , they were events that may not have a precise due date every year birthdays happens world book happens school clothes need to be purchased cars need servicing etc these need to be part of a bigger budget

also be honest are you the same amount overdrawn each month if you are £250 overdrawn every month you are actually just living on your wages and a really frugal couple of months could sort it. and another couple of frugal months could give you a buffer zone of a couple of hundred pounds if however you are slowly being a bit more into overdraft each month you are not managing on your wages

No, but I’m not sure how that helps you

Not now but have been down to last few quid I the past when in a financially abusive relationship. I took on babysitting work as well as f/t work to get me through some tough months before I made my escape.

Hopefully the summer months will mean some lower bills and you can start building a buffer.

You need to look at your budget otherwise it's impossible to say what's causing it, ie insufficient income to cover the essentials or overspending on extras.

But the fact is that increases in the cost of pretty much everything at a rate that outstrips pay increases for most people mean that disposable incomes have reduced often disproportionately so.

So if you've continued to spend as you used to, you will run out of money much faster.

You might be able to improve things, if you actually want to, rather than just having a moan and wanting loads of people to empathise, but it takes a bit of work.

Have a look at https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/family/money-help/

and do everything that's relevant to you.
