I'm currently earning around £145k a year plus bonus, probably a total of £180k a year (bonus is unreliable).
I got very lucky and made a good decision, as my previous job paid £60k. It might mean I'm not well paid for long, so want to make the most of it.
I'm wondering whether some financial advice or maybe an accountant might help me manage it better. Currently, I'm not doing anything smart. Are there things I should consider doing?
The thing that does sticks out to me is that I pay a lot in childcare because I'm over thresholds. I started to earn more just as I had a need for more Childcare, so don't keep as much of the salary as you would expect
Obviously this is fair because I'm paid well. Childcare will soon cost me about £40k, so it's a big hit to my salary as 40k is the pre-tax cost. So over a third of my salary is on this
For those in a similar situation, what does financial advice or accountants do for you? Do they help you to be smarter with money?
