Cancelled marriage allowance but my tax code hasn't changed

Has anyone else experienced this? I cancelled it over 2 years ago now, just checked Gov Gateway and my tax code for this new tax year is still 1383M. Will HMRC catch up eventually and adjust my codes or should I be chasing them up?

@littleegghead chase them up. They will eventually catch up with you.

Doesn't the husband get the marriage allowance unless you requested it split? Was it all assigned to one of you? That may be why your code is unaffected.

It was applied to me as I'm the higher earner. Will put it on my list to chase them up this week.

The non tax payer has to sort it.

@BernadetteIsMySister Hm ok, I will ask DH to have a look then, thank you.

I've done this a few months ago! Your partner as the one who has given part of the allowance must cancel it. You can do this online and you'll receive email confirmation. It only applies from the next tax year though.
