Universal credit removing couple AET

In the budget there is a plan to remove couple AET.
When is this likely to happen?
Also would the Household CET still apply?
In the midst of getting a job after many years being SAHM.
Was looking at 10 hours but need to know if this will be enough to still claim Universal Credits.

What is AET/CET please?
We claim as a couple at the moment.

Administrative earnings threshold and conditionality earnings threshold.
They are incomes necessary to claim Universal Credit that also decide what kind of work group you are in.

Wondering the same. We are in the 'working enough' category and I need to know if I have to get a job sooner than I thought.

Do you know what the household CET is currently?

I was assuming when they remove the couples AET, both will need to earn the AET for single people each

Yes at the moment if one of a couple earns the AET ( 18 x nmw I think) then the other is in light touch. It seems ridiculously low currently. So when it changes, I assume both will need to reach the AET which is still only 36 hours between a couple ?? No idea when this will change though, it could be some time away given how quickly the DWP move on things.

Looks like it’s immediately I’m afraid.

Yes I just saw someone commenting on another help site that GOV. uk had updated that it was being applied straight away. I think it's long overdue personally.

Do we know if being a carer still makes you exempt? I have a disabled child who receives high rate dla and I am really worried.

You have no work commitments if you are a carer.

Thank you, just a worry things can change at a moments notice.

Has anyone had any changes happen to their claim since the budget?

I have heard of some people being called into work commitment appointments and being told they need to work more hours to meet the AET changes as they seem to be taking immediate effect. Rises in elements will take place from the first full assessment period after April 6th.
