Hi there I had my pip assessment on the 22nd February. A week later I received a text saying they have my report and o requested my report aswell. I got my report in the post and it says I scored 12 points for living and 10 for mobility … but today I rang up DWP and they said they want further evidence from my specialist nurse so I given her number .. has this happen to anyone ? My anxiety is hitting the roof… I have got my points so why would they want more evidence they also spoke to these people back in jan.. so why again….???????? Can anyone please give some advice … it’s making me feel ill thinking all the things what it could possibly be…. Xx

When a PIP claim gets sent to the assessment provider (as the majority do) an assessment is conducted and a score recommended for each activity. The report, and the claimant's form and other evidence, is then sent back to the DWP who review everything and make a decision. To do this, sometimes the decision maker may get in touch with the claimant or someone they named in the form to clarify some things. This might be because the decision maker isn't sure the correct number of points have been suggested, and in your case it could be that they are questioning whether you should score the 12 points for an enhanced daily living award, but also could mean they think you should score an extra 2 or more for enhanced mobility.

I know it's hard but you'll just have to continue waiting for the outcome. But it is incorrect that you "already have" your points, as the assessor doesn't award any, though in most claims the DM does go with what is recommended and that could easily be what ends up happening here.

I have read this already today, what advice did you get then?

You haven't 'got your points' though. The report is given to the decision maker who obviously isn't in agreement so needs to make additional checks. This may be to award you more or less points or juts to clarify that the assessor report matches the evidence.

Sadly you will have to wait it out until they get what they need from the nurse.

Hi ladies thanks for the response .. I’m so glad for this wider community we have .. so when I added them up from the report that I received it was adding up to be 12 living and 10 mobility … I have read on other threads that people normally do get the points that be in there report.. it’s just a waiting game I suppose.. I absolutely HATE the waiting part.. the case manager did say she doesn’t want to leave any angles… fingers crossed though ☹️

Also on my report it does say that the claim should be reviewed in 2 years.

Normally but not always. Because your decision maker is asking for either further evidence or clarification from your nurse they obviously are not happy to simply agree with the points given. That's not necessarily a bad sign though.

Also on my report it does say that the claim should be reviewed in 2 years.

Decision maker is likely to stick with that tbh.

I don't get PIP but I'm in Scotland and I have been awarded adult disability payment (ADP)

@premicrois I don’t know what more they want … I suffer a lot from PTSD anxiety and depression after my daughter died .. I then had a prolonged labour and a rupture so I have toilet accidents at the age of 30.. I’m suffering in every angle.. my baby died due to hospital negligence:( its been 18 months n it feels very raw for me.. i don’t sleep I have flashbacks and I tremble and sweat.. ☹️ wish I could be normal again but I am far from it :(

It might not be for more evidence it might just be to clarify. I had a call during my application for ADP and they wanted me to send a copy of my repeat prescription to them. It could be a very small detail they want to double check. It could be that the decision makers thinks you haven't scored enough points and is asking the nurse to make sure of something. It could be she thinks you have been scored too much and is looking for evidence to lower the points. You just never know. It is a very stressful process and I'm sorry you are going through it like this. It's easy to say try not to worry but honestly this isn't always a bad sign, you are in a sting position with the points awarded on your report so fingers crossed.
