Inheritance Tax....

Looking for advice if anyone knows about these things please.

I need to buy exh out of the family home. Struggling to find the funds and my DM has offered to give me 50k towards this.
DM has been ill for the past year and tbh I'm not sure how much longer she will be around.
So my question is, her estate in total will be under 325k so does this mean she can gift this 50k without it being subject to Inheritance tax. Just wondering if it's a better idea that she pays it directly to the lawyer or if that would make no difference.

Felt so relieved after her kind offer and now full of anxiety that it may be subject to hefty tax

Yes £325 k per person £650 k couple as the £325 goes to the spouse if unused. Plus additional amount for home if left to children .
Don't worry.
