Pension Sharing Order

Anyone had one before or knows about them and able to offer some advice?

I clearly wasn't overly with it during my divorce which happened over a year ago... and I just thought the pension transfer would happen automatically (I was awarded an amount of exh pension)...

What do I need to do to have this order implemented? I have a copy of the financial consent order etc. do I approach his pension provider as listed on there, do I approach mine? Do I need a solicitor or a financial advisor to do it?

Many thanks!

A copy of the court order and the pension sharing annexe needs to be sent to your ex’s pension provider. You could do this yourself or ask your solicitor to do it.

His pension provider will ask you to confirm what you want to do with your share. Depending on the type of scheme it is you might be able to just leave it with that provider (but under your own name not his) or you might have to transfer it elsewhere. If you want to transfer it to an existing pension you have you will need to check that they are able and willing to receive it - again this depends on the type of scheme as not all will accept a transfer value as a result of a pension sharing order.

Thank you that's really helpful. I will contact his pension provider as a first step.
