PIP

Hi

I received a text from the DWP this morning saying "We have received the written report of your PIP assessment. We will write to you once we've made a decision on your PIP. As a guide you should hear from us within 8 weeks. You don't need to contact us unless any of your details have changed"

I was due for a review around now but I haven't received or sent any paperwork in so I'm confused as to how they have done a written report.

I was first awarded in 2018 and it was continued about 2 years ago. It is for anxiety and depression.

Could anyone shine any light on this please? Many thanks.

Hi if you haven't received a appointment for a assessment and they sent you this txt its my understanding that they have done a paper assessment and you will not need to attend a assessment yourself , they must have enough information to make a decision without a actual assessment from you.
From what iv seen on these threads its normally a possative sighn that you will be awarded again.

Maybe they contacted your health care professionals and did a paper based decision based on information they gave. They are so far behind with renewals I expect they are trying to clear any they can without doing assessments. The system is so overloaded at the moment with thousands more new applications than normal which they are trying to prioritise. They seem to be in an impossible situation of never catching up on top of covid/ lockdown bcklogs.
