New overdraft used before mortgage completes

Have had a mortgage accepted on new build property which is due to complete end March.

Since mortgage offer accepted have reduced debt massively - we had a few loans.
Due to some sticky situations over Christmas I have had to take out a new overdraft (not on new bank account) I doubt I can fully pay this off before completion atm. Will this affect my completion?

As long as you complete on time they will never know nor ask the question

Thank you!! Just worried as mortgage was accepted late last year and credit check already done. Overall debt compare to when we were accepted has halved even including the new overdraft. All such an anxious time!

Some lenders do a final credit check before completion to make sure a huge amount if debt hasn't been taken out. If you have reduced your debt to a smaller or same value than the OD then I'm sure it will be fine.

This was my concern. The possible final check. My score hasn’t reduced and like I said overall debt has dramatically decreased

We had a mortgage done last year but for various reasons the house didn't complete (probate buy) but we got an offer then when we had to extend it - it went to the underwriters

Our mortgage broker said not to take anything out not even renew the mobile contracts until we completed as they can take "new commitments" into consideration and if your quote close to your borrowing limit it could affect you but if you haven't borrowed a huge amount would likely be ok.

I'd speak to your broker and ask his advice
