So a bit of background, we were meant to move last year, had mortgage all agreed etc then it all fell through.
So we were thinking of trying again this year. Anyway I have just done a quick how much we can borrow with my current lender and its coming in a large amount lower than this time last year. It means we won't be able to borrow enough to move now.
I just wondered about people's experiences with who is lending the most currently to see whether it's worth trying elsewhere?

Try a broker, they will be able to recommend the most suitable lender for uour circumstances.

Disclaimer I work for a mortgage brokers - this is my opinion, not advice

Each lender is different. For example, some lenders will take into account child maintenance payments received/child benefit/etc others will not. Some will take those into account if they are less than 50% of earned income, etc. You get the drift.

Therefore my recommendation would be to speak to a brokers who can run affordability with multiple providers taking into account your individual circumstances.

Thanks yes I will try a broker. This was literally the same company from last year but its come out significantly lower. I know the climate has changed a lot in the last year but I was still q shocked!
