Total income last year (April '21 to April '22) was £51k but of that some was paid into employed pension scheme (automatic, paid before salary hit account).

First year (maybe) doing this and finding it a bit mind blowing!

Thanks, I've read that but the bit that's confusing me is the pensions element.

I did hear on the TV that if they send you a form then you have to fill it in whatever, does this make sense, have you got a form.

LIZS · 26/01/2023 22:15

You might find you are owed some back!

HouseToBoxToVanToHouse · 26/01/2023 22:17

No, they haven't sent a form. HMRC did send something a few months ago letting me know i owe them money because (due to bonus) income crept over the threshold for married couple allowance so had to pay that back. So hmrc definitely aware of income for 21/22 tax year does that mean I'm ok??

Your p60 will be the figures to use and double check you don't have to do one fir previous year. I declared this year but got email 2 days ago saying check hmrc account where there was a £100 fine for not doing one for previous year! I was never asked to, didn't think I needed to. Anyway, have done it and will appeal but a kick in the teeth

@Angelik P60 figures don't include pension paid into employer scheme - is this right? P60 shows the £51k figure.
