I’ve currently got BUPA as an individual. Work have offered Vitality plan.

I will read both policies to check coverage but..

is there any long term reason to stick with BUPA like a no claims bonus?

Best ring BUPA and they will outline in detail any benefits to sticking with them.

Talk with my health protected, the health insurance broker I use, they’ll be able to explain in detail www.myhealthprotected.co.uk

Can't comment on BUPA but I have a Vitality policy through work and love it. The rewards are great, through them I've got free Amazon Prime, got an Apple Watch for £40, a free coffee from Cafe Nero once a week, a free cinema ticket every fortnight, etc. All I have to do is earn activity points each week - basically if you can average out 12,500 steps (or 30 mins of exercise) at least 5 days a week you qualify for these perks.

I've only had to make a claim once since the policy started about 5 years ago and it was dealt with so quickly. I claimed for counselling for anxiety/depression. Within 24 hours of opening a claim I had a call back to set up a chat with someone to assess me, which happened 3 days later and then from that I was matched up with a therapist and had my first session 10 days after starting the claim and spoke with her every week for 10 weeks.

There are generally no long-term reasons to stick with a private health insurance provider such as BUPA, despite incentives like no claims bonuses or loyalty rewards. Private health insurance policies can change annually and may have limitations or exclusions on certain treatments or services, and may not cover pre-existing medical conditions. It's important to regularly review policy terms and conditions to ensure that the policy meets individual needs and provides the best value for money. It's also advisable to compare policies from different providers to find the best coverage for individual needs and budget.
