Is it worth selling broken jewellery?

And if so, where would you sell old/broken silver and gold?

I have smallish amounts of odd earrings, broken necklaces etc.

Has anyone had any success selling small bits and pieces like these please? What sort of quantity makes it worthwhile?

Thanks!

Gold is currently £48.52 per gram. whether it’s worth it depends on how much you have, but any jewellers or pawn shop with a ‘we buy gold’ sign will weigh and give you a price. You can always say you will have a think and take it back home with you if you don’t think it’s worth it.
They may not do silver though as it’s quite low value.

I sold some broken jewellery bits and got a decent amount for it. I used a postal service to a broker in Birmingham. They were very good. I googled and checked reviews and they came up with excellent reviews.

I found an old jewellry box with a broken necklace, 4 odd gold earrings and 2 small pendants. I took them to Ramsdens and got 80 pound and that was about 4 years ago ! Price is even higher now. Very much worth it !

Thanks everyone, that's one New Year resolution sorted then! It's as much to do with decluttering as monetising it.

I used the top rated gold broker on moneysavingexpert a few years back and got the money in my account the day they received the gold, so the day after I posted it.
