Does anyone if it’s possible to exchange unused books of stamps at the post office? Asked DD to buy 2 books of 2nd class at the supermarket and she has bought large letter ones and didn’t even get a receipt!! I despair…

Ask in your local post office, I don’t think they are obligated to do so, but worth asking.

I would just use them. Better to over pay postage than under

Worth a try asking at the post office.
If not, anyone else you know that might buy them off you? A prolific eBayer or equivalent, for example?

Are they definitely wrong? I thought I had bought the wrong stamps too but it was just because they look so different now they have the barcode attached

I always thought that stamps where legal tender. Would imagine a post office could take them off you.

You will use them over time, the new ones won't expire. If you know the face value they can be put on small parcels in multiples. My cousin sent me a parcel recently and it must have had every denomination of stamp plastered on it to make up the postage. TBF she is decluttering - some of them were ancient!

I just used 2 first class stamps on an air mail card, to save going to the post office and buy one specially. Boy the new stamps are huge though, lucky it was a decent sized card.

I can safely say I have no use for these. DD has asked at the local post office and they won’t exchange over the counter - apparently you have to do it via the Royal Mail website! But when I looked at the website couldn’t see anything that covered this scenario of exchanging books bought in error - only of exchanging the old style stamps for the new barcode ones. Thanks for your suggestions but I think I’m just going to give upon it.
