Any postive experiences of financial hearing for divorce

My vile ex has dragged out the financial order for over 18 months. We have hearing this month when due to his deliberate dragging of feet we are asking for the marital home that he lives in to be sold. I dont expect he will do this. What will happen to make him?

All I can say in my case the judge was no nonsense (read intimidating) and looked very poorly on any evidence not presented in the correct manner or procrastination in the proceedings which suited me.
It's quite difficult to say from anyone else as depends on your judge and circumstances.
I was glad my solicitor had advised a very experienced barrister to represent me, which was another cost but worth it.

Mine was different with my ex constantly changing financial goalposts looking for more to extract from the joint finances as the divorce process took so long; but the amount originally agreed was what we left with.
Its all based around fairness at the final stage and taking any emotional aspect away and the judge takes a dim view of any attempts to try and manipulate the situation (I suppose they have seen it all before).
It was stressful though as it boils down to that one person's judgement on your individual situation.
Your solicitor should know if it's likely to be judged a fair settlement, but I left with what I wanted.

Yeah solictor amd barrister confident in what they are asking for and why.
We dont have much to split. Just mostly the equity in the family home. Im just worried that even when a judge gives the financial order that the finances owed to me need to raised by the sale of the property he is living in and i cant see him honoring this or being told what to do.
Im anxious he wont allow viewings and no one can force him to get a conveyancing solictor/estate agent etc and i feel like even when order is given im still going to wait years to get the money which we need to house me and children. He has no respect for the law and court and does what he wants.

The financial order from the judge has to be followed though or he will be back in court and there are penalties including seizure of assets or even jail for contempt of court. Hopefully his own solicitor will make this clear to him. Ultimately the judge and court has far more power than him.

My friends ex husband was court ordered to sell the family home but he didn't so my friend had to go back to court to get a court order giving her the authority and sole control to sell the home.

It's so tedious isn't it.

Any idea how lond this took. Was he evicted? We are both on deeds/mortgage. I think he will just sit there for years and i cant cope.
