No tax owing after submitting self assessment

I submitted yesterday and thought it should have registered now. Although I definitely will owe due to the higher earner child benefit tax charge - and I ticked the box to say I didn't want the tax owing to be added to my tax code next year - it's still not giving me a balance to allow me to pay. Anyone else had this? Thanks in advance

I think it can take a couple of days. Are you just on the edge of the child benefit threshold? You may have some deductions (like charitable contributions) which have taken you back under the limit again.

Thanks for replying. No I'm quite a bit over and before I submitted I could view a calculation of what I would owe but it hasn't yet appeared as a tax owed balance.

It does take a few days to register

Check again in 72 hours, (tax agent here). Anything we do on our customer’s SA records does not update sometimes for 72 hours.

Thanks all!

On a related note is it usual for one's future tax code to be adjusted to take anticipated (2022/23) tax owed from child benefit or savings? I don't recall seeing that in my submission entry options but it has appeared in my submission record with a cross.
