Has anybody here who's had a credit/debit card cloned, or otherwise used fraudulently, booked with Easyjet shortly before?

I am doing a Miss Marple on the strength of one coincidence...!

This time last year we booked flights with Easyjet and within a couple of weeks there were some small, and then quite large, fraudulent transactions on the card (the large ones after it had been reported and the card supposedly blocked)

This month we've again booked with Easyjet, which appears on the statement as being in Luton, and within 10 days there is an unrecognised small transaction at a duty-free merchant also based in Luton.

Of course it is probably just a coincidence but I thought it might be worth asking, as there are so many people on here.

Yes - hadn't thought about it before but now you mention it (and I have just checked dates in my diary). Last May I booked flights to Barcelona with Easyjet and last June my card was frauded to buy over £7000. of flights with some middle eastern airline - all flights were booked online in Canada so Lloyds were brilliant and recredited my account within a week.

Some of the flights had also been paid for with my lloyds card which had expired months before so don't know how they managed to do that ??

Oh really pootlesmum? That's very interesting! I'm convinced I'm right anyway (I always am you know ) but it's nice to get a bit of confirmation.

I hope there are going to be some more here but - although it's months ago - it might be worth you mentioning it to Lloyds?

Payments on secure websites are supposed to be encrypted or scrambled or something and not accessible to individuals but when you think of the sort of systems hackers do get into it must be possible for them to get into financial ones too (or employees, even )

Also interesting that they were able to use your expired card, as in my case they were able to use a blocked one.
