Weve been offered a product transfer with our current bank, 5 years at 4.3%. Is this a good deal or are people not fixing at the moment?

Seems decent. Have you checked Money Saving Expert to see alternative offers ?

Our fixed rate is running out soon and that’s a better rate than I’ve found. Who’s your mortgage provider?

Northby · 07/11/2022 15:48

It’s over 1% better than I’ve found so far. Are you on a low LTV ratio? Who’s the provider?

I've just been offered a 3 year from Halifax at 4.77 which is the cheapest I can get according to my broker. That is approx 68% ltv.

We've just fixed for five years at just over 4%.
It is/was double our existing interest rate..

CheesePleaseLoueese · 07/11/2022 15:52

We are under 50% loan to value

Looks a decent rate from what I've seen, but depends on your attitude to risk and financial situation! I'd almost always choose a fix I knew I could afford over a variable rate, but I'm risk averse and get stressed about the thought of not managing to pay bills.

If you can afford it and want certainty then go for it. I can't see rates going much below 3/4% again
