Consumer rights for goods bought online

Hi everyone I hope you can help. I bought 2 dresses off a website on the 11th October and received them by DPD on the 13th October. Unfortunately they didn't fit and then I got Covid and haven't been able to return them. I have emailed the shop to ask if I can still return them but they have said that I am out of my 14 day return period and they cannot refund my money. Do I have any other way to go about this under the Consumer Rights Act? Looking for someone with a bit more knowledge on this because I really do not want to waste £114. Thank you in advance

I don't think you have any right to a refund, sadly. The 14 day cooling off period has passed. The goods aren't faulty, so you have no right to refund.

You have 14 days to advise of the return and then 14 days to make the return. Which retailer is it and what do their T&Cs say?

Agree with @dementedpixie www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/changed-your-mind/changing-your-mind-about-something-youve-bought/
When did you email? Was it by 27th?

Lougle · 31/10/2022 20:51

Oh I stand corrected! I didn't realise there was another 14 days to return it. Very useful to know.

No I replied yesterday which was 30th. If that's the case then I am utterly buggered

This is a screenshot of the retailers return policy. Does it go against consumer rights?

Is it a UK based company?
Can you say what company it is?

dementedpixie · 31/10/2022 21:47

You still ran out of time to state you wanted to return the items regardless of what the T&Cs say.

Their returns policy isn't compliant with current regulations as it also says they won't refund delivery charges which they should do too.

You were too late sadly. Nothing to be done as you missed the 14 days.

I've just had covid too and was surprised how ill I was, I hope you're better now.
