Old forgotten pensions

I've paid into several workplace pensions through auto enrolment through the years and never really given it much thought until I joined Mumsnet and the pension topic comes up a lot. So I decided I wanted to try and pay more into mine. Then I thought about all the other pensions I had, however I wouldn't have thought I'd have the right paperwork now after several house moves etc. (Please don't all shout at me! I know I know!)
So is there a way I can find these? I did Google and one came up but when I started the process it said it will move them all to them and I'm not sure I want that.
I'm pretty naive about all this. So can anyone help without shouting at me too much please? Many thanks

Government service so free and won’t move them anywhere!

First port of call is to find the correct contact details as per the link above. You then want to get details of what you hold. They should be able to give you details such as when and how much was paid in, your normal retirement date, a projection of benefits and an estimated transfer value. It would then be up to you (together with a Financial Adviser if possible) to decide whether to leave them where they are, move them to your current scheme or whatever.

You may need to jump through a few hoops to properly identify yourself so look out/write down as much information as you can before contacting them. Useful details (other than your full name and date of birth) will be National Insurance number, the name of the company you were working for (if it's not a workplace scheme i.e. you worked for The Smith Factory but the payments were made to Aviva compared to you worked for the Jones factory who have their own Jones Group pension), Dates you worked there, previous addresses they may hold etc.

If these are from many years ago, you may be surprised at the projected possible benefits.

Thank you. I can do dates (well years probably not month or day) and name of workplace. I know my date of birth and NI number (she adds unnecessarily 😂)
