Registering for self assessment - help please

Can anyone in the know advise please? my regular work is as an employed worker and I pay tax through PAYE. However, in the 2021-22 tax year two things happened which mean I need to register for self assessment: did some side work with the permission of my employer, earning around £1.7k and this was paid directly to me and untaxed; I also started receiving Child Benefit which had previously been paid to my ex - am over the threshold for the high income child benefit charge so that needs to be taxed too.

I'm not sure whether I register for self-assessment as employed, or self-employed, and I can't find the answer on the HMRC website or via government gateway thing.

Grateful for any guidance.

Register as self employed which is what your "side work" will be declared as.

Thanks @Badbadbunny I will do that, then. Much appreciated.
