I bought a framed poster from allposters.co.uk ,didn't like it when I got it.Luckily they have 30day refund policy.
Great I thought, until I noticed that the return address is in holland and it's going to cost me £24 to return it.That is half of the total cost ffs!

I want to write to their customer services and complain about the lack of warning on their website about the item coming from holland.I would also like for them to send me a freepost label.
Am I asking too much and if not how can I word my request to optimize my chances.

Thanks

I suppose with a .co.uk web address you would presume its in the UK.

I guess you payed in sterling and not Euros.

yes

If they have a 30 day refund policy (I take it is also for 'not liking' the item) then it is not unreasonable for them to mention on their website that it will have to be sent to Holland!! Have you asked them if there is a depot in the UK that you can send it to??

brimfull · 23/01/2008 14:48

return label has a section to tick and unsuitable is on it so that covers me.
Good idea about a depot.
thanks

Tell them that you will send it back but are not paying for it.....you entered into a contract to purchase an item, which you did. They have a refund policy. They should have mentioned this on their website before you purchased. This term of the contract is onerous and therefore you should not be bound by it. If they had made every effort to bring this to your attention beforehand then fine...but they did not so do not pay. There are cases at common law which would reinforce this position....I can have a look if you wish.

ooh karen you're fab,

Damn, have just sent an email asking for uk depot or suitable solution.(leaving it up to them )Probably will get no where with that one.

Will see what they say and use your faberooni legal speak to go in guns blazing if I'm not satisfied.

Thanks
