Bamboozled - which pre-paid debit card for 9 year old

So been researching pre-paid debit cards for children but cannot decide which one to go for: Go Henry, Rooster money or Hyperjar.

Obviously Hyperjar is free, but kid needs email address and mobile phone.
Go henry is the most established but has a fee.

I really don't know which to opt for ... any thoughts /experiences welcome!

I don't know much about the other providers, but for my 11 year old daughter and me,Gohenry has been ideal for what we wanted. She has control over her savings and what targets she sets. She has done lots of money missions, which have really given her an insight into everything to do with money. The fact that I can see what she spends, and where,is great. I like the fact you can set daily limits, choose whether children can use cashpoints or not etc.For us,it has been very good.

I started using goHenry after someone posted a link on here, and been really impressed with it.I like the way your children do money modules to learn about loads of money related topics, you can set parental controls on everything, see what they have used the card for and loads more.If anyone wants to use my code below,we both get £20,plus your first month's fee(£2.99) is free

Used your link, have been meaning to get a card set up for my 10 year old.Thanks.

Another hyper har user here for my 9 year old. It's been very good. Free and easy to use app. She doesn't have her own phone so the app is on my phone.

We had been using gohenry for our now 13 year old and I was going to close the account last week as the increase in monthly fees had irked me.When I went to close the account, they offered 3 months with no fees,so will have a re-think after the next 3 months if they don't waive the charge when I go to close the account again.I think that initially I didn't mind paying when my son was 8/9 and the money missions were useful, however the older they get,the less benefit you see for the monthly charge.

I have used Fairfx with both of mine although they are now moving to using their own accounts. It is free. They can get the app to see how much money they have left. It was really handy to use when one child went abroad on a school trip as you can just exchange money on there. It's easy to load up with money and to transfer between cards.

I will probably continue to use Gohenry for as long as the fees are waived and then my son will just keep going with a regular bank account.
