Recommendations to keep warm in winter?

Does anyone have any products that don’t cost a lot that will help get us through this winter?
Decent blankets, hoodies, slippers that will help keep us warm,
any other tips? Do those window foil things work?

We've just invested in thermals, personally bought them from m&s but I know there's probably cheaper around. Really hoping it'll mean we can avoid the heating on for a bit

Good idea, we usually get some from Decathlon

I'm trying to keep eyes open on selling sites - eBay / Vinted etc for cashmere / real wool items. A real wool blanket is great when coupled with a hot water bottle. I'm considering investing in a heated throw which a friend of mine used every day last winter (Wfh) and barely had heating in at all.

I’ve looked at electric blankets but lots of people have said they’ve stopped working after a year so worried they might be a bit of a false economy.

any links for oodie type jumpers that aren’t oodie price?

I’ve had my heated throw for ten years. Still working fine

We bought draught excluders last winter and found that made a big difference. We have a back door into our lounge as well as the front door and we didn't realise the draughts coming in. I got them on Etsy so supporting a small business too.
I always have a hot water bottle on the go when it's cold and several blankets in the lounge. Keeping internal doors shut for the room you are in too.
I love my Totes slippers but also wool double layer walking socks. If my feet are cold, the rest of me is.

Adding draught excluder to my shopping list!

No problems with electric blanket here ,had mine for years .

Get one with a deep valance type edge so that you can tuck it in under mattress .I've had one for son's single bed with ties and it was a pain in the neck .

Primark have some oodie type things for £16/£20.
I have lots of blankets around the house. Kids have wheat pack things that heat up in the microwave.
I've also got a draught excluder on the living room window ledge because I can feel the cold through the bottom of that window

Window film for single glazed windows works although I've now installed double glazing.

my tactics this year are
wfh sitting in a sleeping bag - very toasty

logburner rather than central heating but I have a supply of free dry wood

wearing my hiking base layer or ski thermals under my normal clothes

ski socks and sheepskin slippers

lots of hot soups and drinks. Descale your kettle if you live in a hard water area, it can halve the cost.

I'm determined to be warm, but definitely won't be chic outside of video calls. 😀

Thank you for the primark oodie tip!

I did not know that limescale makes your kettle run more expensive, will be descaling mine tonight!!
