Child Benefit for 19 years old

My dd wants to do an Arts Foundation Diploma (not degree level) at a local college before deciding if she wants to do Art at university. She'll be living at home and will turn 19 during that year. Will I still get Child Benefit for her? I think the diploma is a level 3 course

In theory, yes. My DS is in a similar position after missing a year of college due to ill health . He'll be 19 in the coming academic year but still in full-time further education so according to the govt website still qualifies. You have to contact them each year to keep claiming after 16 (up to 20) & I haven't for the coming year yet but I'm hoping to be able to. They're not easy to contact, though, I think I did it through the website web chat last year.

There is a link on here to tell them your child is staying in approved education. I forgot and they suddenly stopped payments shortly after the 18th birthday. Took me a while to realise, I did the form and had a back payment really quickly. They do know now that they will be in education until several months after their 19th birthday but I am expecting to stop when they get to 19. It’s says payments until 20 in some circumstances but not what the circumstances are.
