Maternity pay

Anyone who received statutory maternity pay?? Did you manage to claim any extra help with tops up from tax credits while your income dropped for the 9 months?. It'll be around 10,000 a year less after the first 6 weeks of leave so we will be around £400 a month down from what I'd normally earn if not on leave.
My partner has a Job but he isn't really an high earner so we wouldnt really manage being £400 a month down every month tax credits calculator says we would get extra but not sure how accurate that is so thought I'd ask here we already receive £74 child tax a week and cb £140 a month.

@thecrispfiend no actually not manner change in circumstances trigger a move to UC. Move house in same council no UC , have another child no, child age out and still have a younger child or wtc also no, earn more or less money no. Stop working altogether and chose not to claim UC bit live of less as can't claim IS anymore also no, become or stop being a carer again no. Claim pip or dla or stop again no. Child is too old for you to claim IS again no if you want to live on less money. Etc

@Kell91 sorry my phone is a nightmare. Basically I was saying very few change of circumstances trigger a change to UC . So yes you are correct you won't be moved over despite what the other poster said.
