Joint claim to single claim

Currently on a joint claim with DP he became self employed and started working away information Currently being processed with UC. Since he started working away life has been hard and we just don't see eye to eye anymore I'm part time so rely on him paying most bills which I basically need to ask for and it has been degrading as I've always worked full time and paid all bills.

Over the last few weeks things have came to blows and it's obv he's happy living the "single life" we have decided to go our separate ways.

Now I know I would be entitled to some help as a single parent but I just feel like it may cause issues with UC because we're currently in the middle of his income being adjusted on the joint claim. I feel it may look a bit suspicious that we've started the process of adding his income now all of a sudden I will be removing him but I really can't see a way forward for us.

Has anyone been in this situation? I'm in a well respected job so I'm extremely anxious that it could cause issues with my job but I really cannot afford to run a house and look after DC on my part time wage.

Just really looking to see if anyone else has been in the same situation and if so how do I prove that we have separated.

I'm sure they see it all the time and won't bat an eyelid over it.
You don't need to prove you are seperated. as long as he is not living there, not supporting your financially ( except for child maintenance if the kids are his), finaces are all seperate, he is not named on any bills etc you should be fine.

Due to work commitments he actually hasn't been living here for 3 months but he's been registered here as he was coming home about 8 days each month.

A Universal credit claim cannot be backdated anyway, so separate everything now and make a single claim.
