So I've been told that you can claim back tax rebate if you worked from home during covid, has anyone applied and been successful? TIA

You can do it by logging into your tax account on gov.uk, it's really simple but a token amount.

@Alm1986

When you say "token" amount is it worth claiming? How much is it?

NoMichaelNo · 11/08/2022 12:51

My DH got a cheque with his WFH rebate last week, it was just over £123.

Emmav2020 · 11/08/2022 13:53

£123 is not to be sniffed at I wouldn't say no!! How do you claim?

CravenRaven · 11/08/2022 18:56

Yup.

It's a tax rebate so how much you get back will depend on which tax bracket you fall into.

I think I got about £150 added on to my tax free allowance. So it might not come in as a cheque.

It's incredibly quick and easy to apply and it's well worth it.

TokyoSushi · 11/08/2022 19:00

Yes I got it, mine was 'only' £60 but it literally took minutes to sort.

MoreProseccoNow · 11/08/2022 22:36

Anyone know how to claim it using self-assessment?

I usually phone but HMRC make it difficult these days....

theruffles · 12/08/2022 13:10

Yes, it was very quick and easy to do. I had £60 back.
