I guess your circumstances are not straight forward? Other than loaning you the money - what do you want from a lender?
I always go for the cheapest deal and I barely have any interaction with the bank until I need to remortgage.

Yes, what Forensic said. If it's just a straight forward mortgage then just pick the cheapest deal for whatever fixed period you want.

One that has the deal that suits you, best interest rate, ability to over pay and reduce term, ability to take over payments out of needed etc.

We had nationwide for the last 15 years of our mortgage, they were the lowest rate at the time and their customer service was spot on when we needed it.

Don't go to a bank. Go to a mortgage broker. Try London & County.

Akite · 30/07/2022 10:33

Cheapest deal, taking into account upfront fees, ability to overpay and length of any repayment penalty term. We no longer have a mortgage but used to switch every 2 years and go with whoever offered the best deal.

Try TSB if you want a good level of service

I've had mortgages with NatWest before and found them to be really good

Use a mortgage broker. They often have access to deals you won't find as a standard customer.

urrrgh46 · 30/07/2022 12:28

Definitely recommend a broker.

Blossomandbee · 30/07/2022 12:31

As others have said it depends on your circumstances and a broker is your best bet. Nationwide came out the cheapest with our broker but were quite strict with who they would lend to. Skipton are good and offer some specialist mortgages.
