How much disposable income do you have after all of you mortgage/rent, bills and living expenses have been paid?

I take home c£3,050pm, plus about £4k pa - after pension contributions (so, some of that would actually be disposable income as I pay quite a lot in).

My bills are:
£110 CT
£168 elec/gas (over paying nearly double in fact)
£45 water
£30 BB
£8 mobile phone
£6 Netflix

I suppose my car and home insurance combined is c£40pm.

No debts.

So I have over £2,500 pm disposable income. It's just me.

Very little. We are fighting to keep the bank balance above 0!

coffeecupsandfairylights · 17/07/2022 21:38

Probably around 2k between us.

We're not big earners but we don't have children and live a really modest lifestyle with a low mortgage.

Our fun money goes on our hobbies and meals out.

avocadotofu · 17/07/2022 21:46

About £1500 if you include savings.

FayeGovan · 17/07/2022 21:49

Millions. Jealous?

whatsthecraic91 · 17/07/2022 21:50

£0, I have to count every penny - it's depressing

None. But I have a horse. If I didn’t I’d have about £700. We also have nursery, so that’s another load. When horse is no longer with us (she is old) and DD at school it will be £1500ish between us.

Well this thread has made me feel great.

About £150 at this moment once the mortgage, all our bills and food is taken out. It used to be more but like everyone our disposable income is shrinking.

I know I am in a much better position than some though.

Quite a bit, but a lot of it is tied up in savings (eg long term savings, holiday pot, yearly bills savings, house fund) these are standing orders which get taken out every month so never see them. But for our ‘fun money’ that we can do whatever we want with we get £500 each.
